SUMMARY
On Wayland, plasmashell and ksplashqml crash with SIGBUS (signal 7) on aarch64
when interacting with native KDE windows (e.g. System Settings, Konsole).
Firefox and other non-KDE windows are not affected. The crash does not occur on
X11.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Boot into a Wayland session on an aarch64 device (Xiaomi Pad 5 / nabu, Arch
Linux ARM)
Wait for the desktop to load
Open any native KDE application such as System Settings or Konsole

OBSERVED RESULT
The opened application crashes with SIGBUS (signal 7). plasmashell also crashes
shortly after. The screen goes black. drkonqi itself also crashes with SIGBUS.
EXPECTED RESULT
Applications open normally without crashing.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:

OS: Arch Linux ARM aarch64
Host: Xiaomi Pad 5 (nabu)
Kernel: Linux 6.14.0-mainline-sm8150
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.25.0
Qt Version: 6.11.0
GPU: Qualcomm Adreno 640 (Qualcomm Turnip open-source driver)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Switching to X11 session works fine with no crashes
Firefox and other non-KDE/Qt windows do not trigger the crash
The crash occurs inside /usr/lib/libc.so.6 — on ARM64 this typically indicates
unaligned memory access
No debug symbols available (Arch Linux ARM does not provide a debug
repository), so the stack trace shows only addresses with no symbol names
