Bug ID: 519875
Summary: Triggering save action repeatedly shows unknown error:
could not start saving
Classification: Applications
Product: krita
Version First 5.3.1
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: File formats
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Triggering the save action repeatedly in quick succession triggers an error
dialog:
> Could not save [path].
>
> Unknown error.
With the options OK and Show Details. The details contain one bullet point:
> Could not start saving [path]. Wait until the current save operation has
> finished.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a document.
2. Save it to a KRA file.
3. Make a change to it.
4. Hit Ctrl+S multiple times in quick succession.
OBSERVED RESULT
The previously described error message pops up.
EXPECTED RESULT
No error, the first save should go through, subsequent attempts should not
trigger another one because nothing changed.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Happens on both Windows and Linux.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reported in this KA thread:
https://krita-artists.org/t/spam-saving-with-ctrl-s-throws-out-error-how-can-i-disable-this-error-message/182525
If the error *does* show up legitimately, it probably also shouldn't show up as
"unknown" because Krita should know its own errors. It's not like this is an
external library or operating system error.
