            Bug ID: 519917
Summary: Use the new KDE TimezoneSelector component in
                    Merkuro’s event/todo editor
    Classification: Applications
           Product: Merkuro
      Version First 25.12.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

Merkuro already supports choosing a timezone for events and todos, but the
current timezone selection UI could be improved by using KDE’s newer timezone
selector component.

Plasma recently introduced a map-based TimezoneSelector component for timezone
selection, replacing older list-style timezone selection in places like the
Date & Time KCM / Digital Clock configuration. It would be nice for Merkuro to
use the same component when selecting an event or todo timezone.

This would make timezone selection:
- more visual and discoverable
- more consistent with Plasma’s own timezone selection UI
- easier for users who know a city/region but not the exact IANA timezone name
- nicer when creating events across regions

Expected result:
When editing an event or todo timezone in Merkuro, the user can use KDE’s newer
TimezoneSelector component, while preserving the current stored timezone
behavior.
