I don't know what kind of CPU you have or what kind of hardware accelerated
encoding your GPU supports, but my first guess would be that h264 encoding is
hardware accelerated while vp9 encoding is not. Support for h264 hardware
accelerated encoding is fairly common while vp9 support is pretty rare. We
default to using vp9 because it works out of the box on most distros while h264
doesn't always. Just to confirm, what is the output of the vanfo command?
