This seems reproducible regardless of O/S. It's a regular issue in Debian 13,
AlmaLinux 10 (RedHat based), & OpenSUSE Tumbleweed/Slowroll.  Common things
such as copying or moving a downloaded application folder into /opt is a
perfect example. The Typora portable application folder is 358.9 MiB
(376,337,208) 408 files, 95 sub-folders. I took about 2 minutes to copy/paste
that from ~/Downloads to /opt.  Granted I'm on a SATA SSD, rather than NVME,
but still...the copy command in the terminal did the same thing in one second.
