                    (xwayland)
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First 6.6.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: input
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
For some fullscreen applications (usually proton games running in xwayland) if
you use Meta + G to tab out of them go and enter an empty virtual desktop and
switch back to the fullscreen application the same way keyboard inputs will no
longer be registered until you use Meta to unfocus and focus the fullscreen
Application again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Play any Proton Game under xwayland in fullscreen mode
2. use Meta + G to enter the virtual Desktop overview
3. Switch into an empty Virtual Desktop using the Overview
4. Now open the Overview again and switch back to the Fullscreen xwayland
Window (Proton Game)
5. The window will now no longer respond to any keyboard inputs until you
unfocus by pressing the Meta key and then go back into it that way.

OBSERVED RESULT

Keyboard inputs get ignored

EXPECTED RESULT

Focues Fullsceen applications should be able to register all Keyboard inputs

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This seems to me to be an issue of how the window focus is beeing handled using
the Meta+G keybinding i think that when it switches back to the fullscreen
window it doesn't properly regain window focus but thats purly speculation
