Login screen after waking from sleep

DESCRIPTION: When putting my netbook into sleep, the majority of the time I
wake it from sleep the output on the screen minus the mouse is completely
corrupted and unintelligible.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Log into Plasma
2. Close the lid
3. Open the lid

OBSERVED RESULT
Screen output completely corrupted, only mouse cursor is not. The system is
still completely responsive and you can still sign in if you know how to
navigate the UI without being able to see it. Rarely I'm able to get it to
output normally by closing and opening the lid a few times.

EXPECTED RESULT
My screen is not a garbled mess when waking from sleep
