Bug ID: 520205
Summary: Animation timeline zooms all the way in when adding or
removing a new frame
Classification: Applications
Product: krita
Version First 5.3.1
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Animation
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
when working on an animation using the animation timeline, especially if it is
a short looping animation with only a few frames, the most annoying bug ever
happens. When you create a copy of a frame, or add a new frame, or remove a
frame, the timeline zooms in all the way in as large as it can get. This is
incredibly disorienting and frustrating when working and makes scrubbing
through frames hard. I have to constantly drag the little double arrow button
on the layers panel multiple times to get it to zoom out again.
This is a bug that happened in older versions of Krita that happens
irregularly, but in 5.3.1 is is the most consistent. it can be easily
reproduced. It's far worse than it ever was.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open the animation timeline docker and set the animation duration to be 15
frames
2. make sure your animation timeline is zoomed all the way out
3. while it is zoomed out, add a new frame or create a copy of a frame and
watch the animation timeline zoom all the way in to just those 15 frames that
the animation lasts.
OBSERVED RESULT
the animation timeline suddenly zooms in all the way as large as the frames can
get.
EXPECTED RESULT
the animation timeline should not change in size at all unless i ask it to by
dragging the double/arrows icon in the layer side.
