Bug ID: 520493
Summary: When trying to select text after search, the scroll
bar jumps to the bottom
Classification: Applications
Product: konsole
Version First 26.04.0
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: history
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
I press Ctrl+Shift+F, enter a search phrase, press enter a couple of times
until I find what I'm looking for, then if I try to select text or dismissing
the searchbar using Esc, it immediately scrolls to the bottom and so I cannot
select anything. Even scrolling the mouse while the search is open causes it to
jump to the bottom.
But, I found that after entering the search phrase, if instead of pressing
enter, I click on the next/prev buttons, then mouse interactions (clicking or
scrolling) won't make the scrollbar jump to the bottom. It's like the act of
clicking those buttons instead of using the keyboard (Enter & Shift+Enter)
triggers something that prevents the jump.
I have tried toggling "Allow mouse tracking", it has no effect on this bug.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press Ctrl+Shift+F
2. Enter search phrase
3. Press Enter a couple of times to find what you're looking for
4. Try to select text, scroll, or press Esc to dismiss search
OBSERVED RESULT
The scrollbar jumps to the bottom
EXPECTED RESULT
The scrollbar should stay where it is so I can select text or read the history.
