After clicking the (hitherto unlabelled) button under the list of mimetypes to select them, the filter is now working as expected. Although someone should seriously consider reworking this UI because it is...pretty bad. lol 1. It doesn't tell you what the list is for, nor is it clear where the "Select all" button is because the buttons have no labels, are relatively small, and are at the bottom where you're typically not looking for them. 2. The search box is in a weird spot because it's between two settings and not attached to the list it's supposed to be filtering. The visual language says this is supposed to be like a dropdown or a combobox where you can type and select multiple values and they appear in there, but it's not and it doesn't save anything in there. It's just a filter for the mimetypes list. 3. This is a common problem I have with search tools in KDE. The file name pattern doesn't say whether you're supposed to use "*" or ".*". It doesn't say if you have to escape ".". Is it a regex? Is it a generic text search? No idea.
