Bug ID: 520506
Summary: kwin (wayland) does not remember virtual window
layouts.
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: xwayland
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
While logged in running kwin-x11. Setup any number of virtual windows, doesn't
matter how many. On each virtual window launch an app. Under Desktop Session
ensure On last logout is enabled.
Logout
Log back and each virtual window will show the relevant app it had before
logout.
NOW, logout and switch to plasma-wayland (kwin), login and instead of each app
being in its relevant virtual window they all now in one virtual window.
So I change Session Restore to start with an empty session, logout, log back in
and with the same number of virtual windows launch an app in each one. Change
Session Restore to On last logout, logout and back in and again all the apps
are in one window.
This is extremely annoying and not at all how plasma/virtual windows used to
work before your love affair with wayland. I see with
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493571 its marked as intentional. Really?
Then why bother having virtual windows at all. I cannot convey in a pleasant
manner how irritable this new intentionality is.
