Bug ID: 520546
Summary: Walk through windows and activate application launcher
still activate in overview
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
I hope that this is in the right place; i looked for overview in the component
chooser but couldn't find it. This was most of an issue for me when i bound
the overview to the meta key, but it occurs even with default settings. What i
would expect to happen is that on pressing the meta key to launch the
application menu, the overview should first exit; and when walking through
apps, either the overview should exit, or the active window should be clearly
highlighted in the overview, and the window switching popup with the window
thumbnails should remain full size in the centre of the screen rather than
being a part of the overview.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use the meta+w keyboard shortcut to enter the overview
2. Press meta to launch the application launcher.
3. Press meta+tab or alt+tab to walk through windows.
OBSERVED RESULT
- Observe the application launcher appearing in the small view of the desktop
at the top of the screen.
- Observe the window switch appearing in the overview, and the small desktop
changing to reflect the active window chosen via the shortcut.
EXPECTED RESULT
The overview first closes
