Bug ID: 520583
Summary: Accessibility: Cannot navigate via keyboard to the
most important entries of System Tray
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Keywords: accessibility
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: System Tray widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
After activating the System Tray by its keyboard shortcut, whereupon a pop out
appears and gets focused, there is no way to navigate by keyboard to the tray's
"main entries" (i.e. those entries that are already shown in the panel,
including for instance entries that are "always visible"). One can only
navigate within the pop out.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a keyboard shortcut for the System Tray widget in your panel
2. Use that shortcut. A pop out, containing the hidden entries, will appear.
3. Try to navigate by keyboard to the System Tray entries in the panel
OBSERVED RESULT
There seems to be no key combination to focus the main entries.
EXPECTED RESULT
Some keyboard shortcut should allow you to move focus from the pop out to the
"main entries".
An obvious choice would be to have the down arrow do this when you press it on
one of the lowest entries in the pop out.
In addition, it would be good to offer an additional shortcut for activating
the widget in the first place: one that just focuses the first entry of the
visible tray entries, without opening the pop out at all.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20260520
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.26.0
