Bug ID: 520656
Summary: Recommended a keyboard layout based on the user's
region for distros that do not set it during
installation
Classification: Applications
Product: systemsettings
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: kcm_keyboard
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. As a new Linux user, install Arch Linux with KDE Plasma through the
archinstall command.
2. After installation, type keys not available in English keyboards.
3. Go to the keyboard layout to fix the fact that they don't work.
OBSERVED RESULT
Either there will be nothing in the layout section that encourages the user to
configure it.
Or the wrong flag if Bug 520417 get implemented.
EXPECTED RESULT
The most common layout of the user's region should be recommended right on the
list, making the process painless.
If possible, it should automatically be the secondary layout.
