Bug ID: 520692
Summary: "Allow using controller as pointer and keyboard"
option interferes with RPCS3 games, but without it the
screen goes black after 10 minutes
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
I believe that the option "Allow using controller as pointer and keyboard" was
added in 6.6, and it's a great feature, but the way it is right now is
interfering with RPCS3 games, for example when I press options in the game it
opens the Plasma Application Launcher instead of the game settings, which it's
not how it should behave because it makes RPCS3 games unplayable. (RPCS3 runs
natively on Linux and Wayland)
But if I disable this option then the screen goes black after 10 minutes
Also this issue doesn't happen with Steam games or with Hytale that just today
added controller support, for now the only app this option misbehaves with that
I've noticed is RPCS3
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable the "Allow using controller as pointer and keyboard" option
2. Open an RPCS3 game
3. Press the option/start button on the controller
OBSERVED RESULT
Pressing the option button on the controller open the Plasma Application
Launcher instead of the games settings
EXPECTED RESULT
The controller should only be able to control the game when gaming and not
