Yes 'no' or 'one' active selection are the correct states.

What I like about having multiple selection is that it makes it easier to move
things around later, without having to recreate a selection for the object.
Usually I give the selection the name of the layer where the object is. (Having
a selection per layer is what I actually want.)

PS: Thanks for providing this wonderful program. Really like the powerful brush
engine.
