Bug ID: 520750
Summary: Audio bitrate of aac format is capped
Classification: Applications
Product: kdenlive
Version First 26.04.1
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Rendering & Export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
It's impossible to achieve high bitrate with aac format (e.g., 384kbps,
512kbps, etc), even with a custom profile with CBR. The audio in the actual
output file is always 247kbps or lower.
Why this is important:
- YouTube's official recommended audio bitrates for uploads is 384 kbps (for
stereo audio), and 512kbps (for 5.1 audio).
- Some users might want to export with a specific bitrate range for technical
reasons.
- The mismatch between the user-set numbers and the output result is obviously
a misleading bug.
