DESCRIPTION
Linux/Plasma are installed on a laptop. External monitor is connected via HDMI.
External monitor CHANGES to DP-2 and becomes unusable quite often, usually
after resuming from sleep, but also upon booting and once just out of the blue
while in use. The only way to resolve this is to shutdown (simply rebooting
will NOT work) and start the computer again. This has about a 33% success rate,
and usually requires multiple shutdowns and startups in order to resolve
temporarily.
I have also tried the following:
-changing from X11 to Wayland
-disabling KScreen2
-deleting the kscreen directory with rm ~/.local/share/kscreen -r
None have resulted in consistent success resolving the issue.
This issue is similar to 460341, although with an Intel GPU and not nVidia.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Allow computer to enter sleep mode (either intentionally via power button or
uintentionall via inactivity).
2. Wake computer.
3. Alternately, just starting the computer has a 33% chance of reproducing the
issue.
OBSERVED RESULT:
Monitor never wakes. Display Configuration shows external monitor as DP-2 with
resolutions of 640x480, 800x600, 848x480, and 1024x768 only. Monitor will not
turn on regardless of resolution selected.
EXPECTED RESULT
Monitor should wake up and display the screen as configured.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
xrandr ALWAYS shows HDMI-1 as disconnected and DP-2 as connected, even before
the issue. Plasma's Display Configuration will show 27B1 (the product name of
the monitor) prior to the issue, but will display the monitor as DP-2 after the
issue occurs.
This laptop has NO DisplayPort outputs.
