            Bug ID: 520775
Summary: Virtual Desktop's on-screen display when switching has
                    animations fail intermittently upon
                    switching/triggering

Short video file displaying the behavior described above

DESCRIPTION

When enabled in 'System Settings > Window Management > Virtual Desktops', the
little virtual desktop switching display, showing the display's name and
position in its order while being switched to its respective display, has its
fade-out animation break. This happens regardless of millisecond delay given
and if desktop layout indicator had been selected. The behavior seems to be
that it fails to activate its animation, where the displayed name or name &
layout indicator immediately closes upon timeout, rather than such close upon
lingering fade-out.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have Virtual Desktops enabled, with any number of virtual desktops

2. Enable, with any delay interval, "Show on-screen display when switching" in
System Settings > Window Management > Virtual Desktops

3. Switch displays back-and-fourth to notice issues

OBSERVED RESULT

Display abruptly disappears

EXPECTED RESULT

Display fades-out
