At least the Invert parameter doesn't seem to hold its setting, but instead it
takes on a random check state after clicking away from the effect, then
selecting it again. Also, the other parameters seem to behave erratically too,
in that the alpha mask sometimes get updated correctly, sometimes not. However,
these other parameters at least keep their settings.
