bastionntb <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] | |et --- Comment #4 from bastionntb <[email protected]> --- So I've got plasmashell 6.6.5 on Arch, I installed kdepim-addons and korganizer, then added my two calendars to korganizer, then went to the calendar clock widget in the task bar, and turned on calendar events, and added the two calendars there as well. I did the same on another machine. After doing that, I would get systematic plasmashell freezes on one PC, with it taking up near 30GBs of memory. On the other, the entire computer would freeze for about 2 minutes till the kernel OOM function kicked in and killed plasmashell, on this computer, not even the mouse would move. I suspect this is in part to the fact that one machine has a cache+zswap memory, while the other only has zswap. Not too comfortable with Linux just yet, so not sure what would be helpful for this issue... Here's some of the info I collected after the crash on the second machine this morning. https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZuu1I5Zf6NFRp5Sh7J0GB3rqqmUnFpUdxPy This is some of the stuff that points out to what may be going on. The moment it hang: May 30 09:57:23 apollo systemd[972]: plasma-plasmashell.service: Consumed 3min 15.034s CPU time over 1h 2min 59.024s wall clock time, 24.5G memory peak, 1.3G memory swap peak. Also here plasmashell is taking the memory: May 30 09:57:23 apollo kernel: Out of memory: Killed process 1251 (plasmashell) total-vm:28763120kB, anon-rss:24607608kB, file-rss:21184kB, shmem-rss:2164kB, UID:1000 pgtables:50692kB oom_score_adj:200 Akonadi was in the middle of processing some changes right before the hang: May 30 09:54:28 akonadi_ical_resource[2202]: Reload file success: true May 30 09:54:28 akonadi_ical_resource[2203]: The hash has changed. May 30 09:54:28 akonadi_ical_resource[2203]: Reload file success: true May 30 09:54:28 kalendarac[1504]: "Item query returned empty result set" I suspect the process after this point started consuming more and more memory, till it hang, but I'm not certain. And it resubscribed to the monitors after it restarted: May 30 09:57:23 akonadiserver[2047]: Subscriber "PlasmaEventModelMonitor - 94611661660640" disconnected May 30 09:57:29 akonadiserver[2047]: Subscriber Akonadi::Server::NotificationSubscriber identified as "PlasmaEventModelMonitor - 94439099683712" I've turned off the calendar events in the calendar widget for not and I have not yet seen a plasmashell freeze or otherwise. But left korganizer and everything else still configured. Hope that helps! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
