--- Comment #10 from matthias sweertvaegher <[email protected]>

i already have the remember view setting on.

This is my situation:

Default view settings:
* Name ascending
* no grouping
* folders first

when i navigate to the home folder, I get:
* Modified descending
* grouping on
* folders not first

when I change my view settings similar to the default ones, the view looks
fine. Except, when i go into a subfolder and go back, my changes on the view
are not remembered, so I get again grouping on Modified

Even after changing the settings through the View Display Style dialog, even
though the home folder then looks okay in Dolphin, if I reopen the dialog
immediately after, I notice it did not remember my settings.

I looked for a `.directory` file, but there is none. It is kind of logical
since I just configured the Default view settings manually (so no `.directory`
file needed). The home folder is a mounted ext4 partition.

If i disable grouping and enable folders first, it does remember the setting,
but it's still sorted Modified descending. As soon as I change that to Name
ascending, it's broken again (reverts to enabling grouping, disabling folders
first, Modified descending)
