Ashram <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED Resolution|WORKSFORME |--- --- Comment #10 from Ashram <[email protected]> --- @Akseli Lahtinen Yes, they introduced a slight modification that displays long items/folders names in a different way: truncating the whole text, displaying just the end & beginning of it. It's just a different way to do it, still doesn't fix the issue. People working with multimedia files/folders with long names + identifiers as part of those names (these IDs being part of the workflow, can't be changed) still face the very same issue. This is properly addressed on Gnome's file manager since... as long as i can remember (began using Linux around 2008). Files/folders with long names aren't fully displayed until you select 'em (can't remember now if this behaviour can be applied on hovering as well), so when a file/folder is selected (this action is implying there's an additional motivation, so it makes sense) it displays the full name, even if it covers surrounding files/folders. Needless to say, once unselected it returs to previous state. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
