While it's not as much as 'bajillion' (likely closer to around 10+ or so) I can say despite the crash, the autosaves are not lost if the crash happens during recovering them. It appears the autosave files are kept anyway in the temp folder if the crash happens or even if I uncheck them in the recovery window on startup to make it though the initial load. As a backup I can always make a file backup of the recovery files too, to ensure none are truly lost.
