Bug ID: 520960
Summary: Entering edit mode causes maximized windows to make
room for a panel that is set to dodge windows
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.91
Reported In:
Platform: Arch Linux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: Edit Mode
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
Having a window-dodging panel and entering edit mode causes maximized windows
of some applications to make room for the panel unnessesarily. Some
applications leave a gap for the panel even though in a maximized state they're
not supposed to. Others will show the gap for a split second then correct it.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure the panel to dodge windows
2. Open something and maximize it
3. Enter edit more, then exit edit mode
4. Observe
OBSERVED RESULT
The maximized window creates a gap for the panel then either does nothing about
it (LibreOffice, LibreWolf) or hastily jerks around to get back to its proper
size (the native KDE apps I've tried)
EXPECTED RESULT
The window remains fully maximized with no gaps.
