RAM usage ramping up continuously

The process kioworker.exe is using up all my RAM, it climbs up steadily until
it crashes everything, this happened after updating from an older version, I
believe I was in version 25.12.1 or so.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open up any project in KdenLive
2. Try to use it normally (it functions "normally" until the RAM usage is too
much)
3. Crash when RAM usage exceeds 25ish GB

OBSERVED RESULT
Crashes software and I'm also unable to use older projects for some reason (not
sure why that is, but opening up these projects crash the software directly)

EXPECTED RESULT
No crashes?
