I do believe it is a proper HSV transformation. The color of the background
there, which I'm assuming you chose as your brush color, is actually HSV with
Hue 41.67, Saturation 99.60, and Value 99.22. And obviously Hue 41.67,
Saturation 0, Value 99.22 is nearly pure white.

The problem is that it *is* HSV and HSV's advantage is that it calculates
easily, however the Value option isn't really all that human-compatible,
especially around the super saturated colors (notice how super saturated blue
with value 100 is way darker than super saturated yellow with value 100). It
would be awesome to have HSY' support in the brush engine instead, much more
useful.

I'll set it to wishlist then. (My other option would be to close it as not a
bug, because it isn't, it works correctly, it's just not what the user
necessarily wants).
