DESCRIPTION
I installed KDE Plasma and noticed the mouse cursor latency was noticeably
higher than on XFCE4 or on Windows. After setting
KWIN_DISABLE_TRIPLE_BUFFERING=1, the mouse latency was fine and seemed
consistent with X11 and Windows. I'm not an expert but I don't see why triple
buffering should be adding extra latency. If it does have to add latency, maybe
no triple buffering should be the default.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
- Installed nvidia-open drivers on arch
- Installed plasma-desktop package
OBSERVED RESULT
Latency when moving the mouse was higher than I am used to seeing with other
window managers/operating systems on this device
EXPECTED RESULT
Latency when moving mouse is consistent with other window managers on this
device

Operating System: Arch linux (freshly installed yesterday)
