DESCRIPTION
Krita for Windows currently appears to be bundled with LibRaw 0.20.2. When
opening a RAW file and showing the RAW import options, the dialog displays
“libraw 0.20.2”.
LibRaw 0.20.2 is several versions behind the current LibRaw release. Newer
LibRaw versions include support and fixes for newer RAW formats and cameras,
including newer Sony ARW variants. Because of this, Krita’s RAW import support
may be limited compared with what current LibRaw versions can already handle.
This is not a crash report. It is a feature request / dependency update request
for the official Windows builds of Krita.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install the latest official Krita version for Windows.
2. Open a RAW file, for example a Sony ARW file.
3. In the RAW import dialog, check the LibRaw version shown in the interface.
OBSERVED RESULT
The RAW import dialog shows:
libraw 0.20.2
The bundled files in Krita’s bin folder also appear to be the LibRaw files used
by Krita:
libraw.dll
libraw_r.dll
libKF5KDcraw.dll
EXPECTED RESULT
Krita should ideally bundle a newer LibRaw version, such as LibRaw 0.22.1 or
newer, so RAW import benefits from newer camera support, newer Sony ARW
support, and recent LibRaw fixes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The RAW import dialog visibly reports “libraw 0.20.2”.
I understand that Krita may depend on KDE/KDcraw/KImageFormats for RAW loading,
so this may require updating the bundled LibRaw dependency and ensuring
compatibility with the RAW import component.
This request is especially relevant for photographers using Sony ARW files and
other newer RAW formats directly in Krita.
