If you installed Kdenlive on Debian or Ubuntu distros using their own repositories/SW Managers/App Stores, that may explain it because the distros do their own packaging which we have no control over. At least on Debian, you can select whether to install an app from the Debian repo or from Flathub. For Kdenlive I strongly recommend setting that to Flathub as it updates automatically.
