DESCRIPTION
Upon login, KDE paints the screen, then displays the crash dialog, then goes to
a black screen with mouse cursor. This process repeats three times, then I am
left with the black screen and cursor. The cursor responds to mouse movements,
and I can start a terminal session with Ctl-Alt-T. This behaviour started
today. Previously the system has been working normally since release of Ubuntu
Studio 24.04.1 LTS.
Other users on the system can log in without problems.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The advice in https://userbase.kde.org/Troubleshooting/Black_Screen# appears to
be irrelevant, since logins with other accounts function normally.
I do not have any custom panel, clock widget, system tray item, or media
widget.
According to Discover, all SW modules are up to date.
GUI can be started for this user if I remove
~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc and allow it to be recreated.
The failing version of ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc is
attached.
