--- Comment #4 from Dawid Wróbel <[email protected]> --- I was thinking that perhaps a more robust and universal approach would be to allow switching between views when displaying/editing a transaction? I can envision different types of such views, from a regular one, to security, scheduled one? I believe it would make more sense from a user perspective, especially if you consider the status quo which I already pointed out, i.e. that when looking at a security transaction in view mode you see the full Account path (e.g. Assets:Account:Investment:Security) but then in edit mode it switches to show you Security field only, sans the path. That being said, this is almost the same problem as how we're splitting the UI between Categories for expenses and Accounts for everything else. This bites back in several ways in the UI and is a source of plenty of confusion for new users, as we all know. I do not know what the solution is here, this problem isn't unique to KMM; after all, different apps choose to either make an explicit Account/Expense split and hide the double accounting or have everything just be a plain account (like GnuCash) with no distinction between Accounts and Expenses. KMM does both and I think navigating that is not entirely intuitive or UI friendly. This is not meant to be criticism, just trying to encompass this thing as a whole. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
