Bug ID: 521428
Summary: Bug: "Find new items" progress bar and percentage do
not update during scan (stuck at 0% until 100%)
Classification: Applications
Product: digikam
Version First 9.0.0
Reported In:
Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Database-Scan
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
When importing new photos (e.g., from a camera or external folder), the
background process "Find new items" starts, but the progress bar visual filling
and the percentage indicator do not update dynamically. They stay completely
static at 0% while the system works in the background. Once the scanning
process is entirely finished, the indicator abruptly jumps to 100% and
disappears.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Import a large number of images into a collection folder.
2. Observe the "Find new items" progress task in the bottom right corner of the
status bar.
3. The percentage stays at 0% and the red progress line does not advance during
the operation.
4. The bar only updates when the process is 100% complete.
OBSERVED RESULT
EXPECTED RESULT
The progress bar should fill incrementally and the percentage should update in
real-time (e.g., 5%, 12%, 45%...) reflecting the actual progress of the item
discovery.
