Bug ID: 521429
Summary: KDE Plasma desktop crashes when you make a file or
folder with the name as a single space
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: Desktop icons & Folder View widget
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
Creating a folder with the name as a single space crashes the whole graphical
interface
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a folder with the name as a single space in the desktop
OBSERVED RESULT
The whole KDE Plasma shell crashes (plasmashell), then restarts, with the
created directory not existing in the desktop anymore, right before Dr. Konqi
says "plasmashell"
crashed.
EXPECTED RESULT
KDE Plasma should not let you create the folder, or at the very least, not
crash.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window): KDE neon User Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.26.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This does NOT work with files. Also, if you create the folder from Dolphin
instead of right clicking from the desktop, Dolphin also crashes and does not
create the folder.
