When I choose to 'Browse this device' through the systray icon (as mentioned in
the OP) or if I click the Dolphin file manager sidebar that shows my Pixel
phone, it automatically takes me to  'storage/emulated' which displays a folder
named "Internal shared storage". When I click on that and look at the path it
is indeed 'storage/emulated/0'.

So the feature request is valid to me. Is it not safe to assume that
'storage/emulated/0' is the target and the contents of it should be displayed
instead of requiring an extra step ?
