Bug ID: 521478
Summary: Window forced on all virtual desktops when deleting
the virtual desktop it is forced to.
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.6.5
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
If you configure a rule to force an application on a specific virtual desktop
and then delete that virtual desktop, the application is shown on all desktops.
Titlebar->Right-Click->Desktops->All Desktops is selected but cannot be
unselected. Adding the deleted virtual desktop back also does not fix it. You
would have to redefine the window rule.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create and apply window rule that forces an application to be on a specific
virtual desktop (e.g. on the 9th of 9 virtual desktops).
2. Open the application, which is forced to be on the specified virtual desktop
(in this example on the 9th).
3. Delete the virtual desktop the application is forced to (e.g. via the
overview effect).
OBSERVED RESULT
The is moved to "All Desktops" without being able to change it (other than
going to the window rule).
EXPECTED RESULT
Moving the application to a neighbouring virtual desktop and potentially
disabling the invalid script or warning the user that the deletion would
conflict with the currently applied rules.
