--- Comment #40 from John <[email protected]> ---
When I installed Fedora 43 KDE back in February this issue was not present on a
fresh install, however it started as soon as I updated the system and has been
present since then (Currently using up to date Fedora 44, KDE connect 26.04.2).
The issue was also present on CachyOS. It doesn't matter which bluetooth
headphones I use or which codec I pick, they all have the issue of extreme
crackling/distortion of sound on KDE. Terminating kdeconnectd always fixes it.
I'm using a bluetooth dongle on a desktop PC. The brand name on it is tp-link.
Motherboard is MSI MPG X570 GAMING PLUS AM4 with Ryzen 5 3600

Bluetooth version is a little old but it works just fine for me with any
hardware I have in any OS I've used, just not with KDE Connect. If I really
needed KDE Connect I would just buy a new dongle and see if that helps but for
now I have just been content with "sudo chmod -x /usr/bin/kdeconnectd".
