[email protected] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #9 from [email protected] --- This 'bug' is for information to be displayed in the program settings page, but I found it very difficult to find the information about needing to install something separately anywhere. The announcement page (https://blogs.kde.org/2025/11/15/this-week-in-plasma-ocr-in-spectacle-and-many-ui-improvements/), the Spectacle Handbook (Where the Help/F1 command takes you from Spectacle (https://docs.kde.org/stable_kf6/en/spectacle/spectacle/index.html), the KDE Apps page (https://apps.kde.org/spectacle) all don't mention anything about how to enable the OCR feature. Most internet searches bring up 3rd party workarounds that people have been using before this was a native feature. Sure, there were some comments on the announcement page mentionig tesseract, but nothing stating it had to be installed, and I wouldn't say that is the primary place people would look anyway. I didn't find I needed to install anything until this forum post, that I wasn't even sure was relevant to me: https://discuss.kde.org/t/how-do-i-configure-the-spectacle-chinese-ocr-engine/44470/2 So- I guess in summary, in addition to the initial request adding information on the settings page, to also updating some web documentation, probably the Handbook- although that seems like it hasn't been updated in 5 years anyway. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
