Bug ID: 521779
Summary: GwenView struggles to open and save images which have
been pixelated/blurred. Also, the image dimensions of
pixelated/blurred image increase very rapidly.
Classification: Applications
Product: gwenview
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
Pretty much the summary. While I was pixelating an image to hide my sensitive
info, I noticed that after a few iterations, GwenView was struggling to open
the image and also barely managed to apply the new pixelation effect and save
the changes. Also, it hogs RAM. And the modified image dimension grows a lot,
like a lot!
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open any image.
2. Apply some pixelation/blue to any part of the image.
3. Save it
4. Repeat with the modified image.
After just 4/5 iterations, the GwenView can barely open it and apply new
pixelations and save them.
OBSERVED RESULT
After just 4/5 iterations, the GwenView can barely open it and apply new
pixelations and save them. Huge RAM consumption, huge image dimensions
EXPECTED RESULT
The modified image opens as instantly as the unmodified/original version of
that image. No memory hog and image dimensions remain intact.
