DESCRIPTION
After upgrading to Plasma 6.7 on Fedora, the entire system freezes/crashes when
adjusting the screen brightness quickly via the system tray. The crash results
in a completely frozen display and an unresponsive keyboard (Caps Lock LED does
not toggle, and switching to another TTY is impossible).
But audio from background applications continues to play normally during the
freeze.
The crash does not occur when using physical laptop brightness keys or if the
system tray brightness slider is moved extremely slowly.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Click on the Brightness icon in the system tray.
2. Change the brightness by either scrolling the mouse wheel over the icon, or
by dragging the slider quickly.
OBSERVED RESULT
The entire desktop environment freezes instantly. The keyboard becomes entirely
unresponsive (Caps Lock light will not toggle), and switching to another TTY is
impossible.
EXPECTED RESULT
The brightness changes without crashing
