Summary: HDMI crashes plasmashell
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First master

Platform: Ubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

Target Milestone: 1.0
DESCRIPTION
I usually have my laptop connected to a monitor with HDMI and often remove and
plug that cable back in when i need to. Often when i do this, plasmashell will
crash and everything other than any apllications i have open will stop working
for a few minutes until plasmashell resets. This is extremley common for me and
happens almost all the time, if not every time. This has happened for a while
across many updates
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. connect HDMI
2. I think it needs to be connected for a while, it wont happen if i plug HDMI
in then out in a short time frame
2. remove HDMI
OBSERVED RESULT
Plasmashell crashes, taskbar and taskbar widgets dissapear and stop working.
Home screen turns black. I think all/most plasmashell parts stop working but i
haven't tested
EXPECTED RESULT
No plasmashell crash
