Bug ID: 521947
Summary: Request: Add vertical monitor layouts (Above/Below) to
the quick display configuration panel.
Classification: Plasma
Product: KScreen
Version First 6.6.5

Platform: Bazzite
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: common

Target Milestone: ---
The current quick panel provides presets for mirror mode and horizontal
extension (left/right), but not for vertical arrangements. Many users place one
monitor above or below another, and it would be useful to switch to these
layouts with a single click, just like the existing horizontal presets.
In my case, one of the outputs is connected to a TV that I only use
occasionally. When the TV is not in use, I cannot simply leave the desktop
extended onto it, because the TV is physically turned off while the system
still considers it part of the active desktop. As a result, the mouse cursor
can disappear onto the inactive screen area, which is frustrating and makes
window management more difficult.
Having quick presets for vertical layouts would make it much easier to switch
between different monitor configurations without opening the full display
settings every time.
Since horizontal layouts already have dedicated quick actions, adding
equivalent "Above" and "Below" options would provide feature parity and improve
usability for users with vertically arranged displays.
