Bug ID: 521988
Summary: Randomly rebooting when idling for a long period
Classification: I don't know
Product: kde
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: CachyOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
When leaving Linux unattended for a time to do anything else, upon your return
you will suddenly find yourself in Windows 11.
I honestly don't know what causes it, I currently dual boot and have the option
to access Windows or Linux. When I'm in the boot menu and I leave it be it will
automatically boot into Windows. So what I think what happened is that Linux
for some reason just decided to reboot and it got into the boot menu and
through there I got booted into Windows.
I'm personally pretty new with Linux, but I'm pretty sure Linux isn't supposed
to reboot whenever it likes.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Leave your laptop on but leave it unattended.
2. Go do whatever you wanted to do while your laptop is hopefully still on or
entered sleep mode.
3. Come back to your laptop, see that it has entered sleep mode, shake your
mouse a new times and woah Windows is there.
OBSERVED RESULT
Windows login screen is suddenly there.
EXPECTED RESULT
I just wanted to continue on Linux :(
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a
terminal window):
KDE Plasma Version: 6.7.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I think it's a very silly issue, I really just went away to have some lunch and
come back to the windows login screen. This happened a few times before but
it's starting to get a bit annoying to have to reboot again to get back to the
boot menu.
