Farran <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #2 from Farran <[email protected]> --- I confirm this as a bug, too. (Sorry, I don't see a "me too" feature on this bug site and not sure the correct etiquette.) Besides it being a problem that it's not configurable/customisable, in my opinion it's also a really strange choice: Default keyboard-only combo to change desktop is Ctrl+Meta+arrows. Default keyboard+mouse combo should be Ctrl+Meta+Scroll, by direct, obvious & discoverable, analogy. I appreciate that Ctrl+Meta+Scroll is already taken by Accessibility's zoom feature. Strangely, setting the zoom feature to use Meta+Alt+Scroll doesn't override the desktop scrolling keyboard+mouse combo (which is a surprise given that it's the Accessibility section, so I'd expect a user's needs to take greater priority than desktop shell defaults). This has bugged me since my first day of switching to KDE/Plasma a few months ago, but I never got around to trying to configure it because I've stopped virtual desktops (mainly because the shortcut combo is weird and I keep zooming by accident). Switching keyboard modifiers when using keyboard alone or keyboard+mouse has really broken my mental model of keyboard shortcuts habits. If I press keys to change desktop, I expect the same keys to do the same thing when using the mouse scroll wheel. As they don't, I just don't use virtual desktops, because I need things to work predictably so that I can focus on whatever tasks I'm actually doing. To block accidental zooming, I've set the zoom shortcut to Meta+Ctrl+Alt+Scroll. Regardless of if the default is changed (which for Accessibility purposes, I understand if it won't be), this shortcut should absolutely be customisable!
