DESCRIPTION
kdiff3 hangs on startup if "Backup files" is *not* enabled.
The kdiff3 icon appears in the task bar, but the window fails to open.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open kdiff3 settings and verify that "Backup files (.orig)" is *not* checked
2. Close all kdiff3 instances
3. Produce a merge conflict in a git repository, e.g. by rebasing a git branch
4. call 'git mergetool --tool kdiff3' on the command line from within the git
repository
OBSERVED RESULT
kdiff3 hangs indefinitely.
EXPECTED RESULT
kdiff3 opens normally
