What the heck? Now I can't reproduce the problem. This has plagued me since
installing linux on this thing and now it's gone?! None of what you mentioned
should have changed anything so I don't know what happened there.

Is there some kind of config that gets saved when disabling and enabling
screens? I wonder if something got messed up there and somehow I've reset it
or... something....
