And yes, your rating will be deleted in the process. Since you haven't enabled writing metadata to RAW files, the database metadata will be reset. To enable writing metadata to RAW files, you need to activate the ExifTool writing option and check the box for RAW files. Whether or not to write metadata to RAW files is a personal decision that everyone has to make for themselves. However, the issue with the corrupt text has definitely been fixed in digiKam-9.2.0 and will no longer occur with newly imported images.
