Wolfgang Müller spotted this and kindly submitted a fix, which I've confirmed works, and is scheduled for 6.7.2. (A similar issue applied to the quick-dial when you click on a letter in the All Applications page, which I'll also try to get in for 6.7.2). So if it works for the Applications tab in 6.7.1 but not for the Places tab, please wait for 6.7.2.
