Bug ID: 522327
Summary: Cannot input text in chromium after using navigation
shortcut
Classification: Plasma
Product: Plasma Keyboard
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
DESCRIPTION
After using navigation keyboard shortcuts, text input in Chromium-based
browsers stop accepting normal typing input. Keystrokes are ignored until a
non-printable key (such as Backspace) is pressed.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Enable Plasma Virtual Keyboard
2. Open Google Chrome
3. Focus any text input field (e.g. search input box on https://bugs.kde.org/)
4. Use "Activate Next Tab" & "Activate Previous Tab" keyboard shortcuts,
returning to the original tab.
5. Try typing normally
OBSERVED RESULT
Typed characters do not appear. Input remains "stuck" until a special key event
occurs (e.g. pressing Backspace), after which typing resumes normally.
EXPECTED RESULT
Keyboard input continues working normally.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 44

KDE Frameworks Version: 6.27.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The issue occurs on both Chrome and Brave but not Firefox.
It only occurs when Plasma Virtual Keyboard is enabled.
