            Bug ID: 522369
Summary: Loading thumbnails in folder on external disk slows
                    down scrolling
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First 25.12.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

DESCRIPTION
It seems that even after having the thumbnails in the local cache folder it
slows down scrolling in a folder with lots of videos or pictures and sub
folders with videos if it is on an external disk HDD which is not that fast.
I have to completely disable thumbnails to make it fast again.
I guess getting the meta data to get the matching thumbnails is already rather
slow somehow.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create lots of video files on an external encrypted HDD disk in a single
folder with sub folders which contains video/image files as well.
2. Enable thumbnails for all video files no matter which size.
3. Open the folder in Dolphin.

OBSERVED RESULT
Scrolling is really slow.

EXPECTED RESULT
It should not be that slow or add some option to disable it for external disk
like you do for remote folders.
